What are telemedicine virtual visits?

First Care offers telemedicine virtual visits for all of our patients in Kentucky! Telemedicine services are similar to the care we provide in our clinics, except that you are able to access this care from your smartphone or tablet in the comfort of your own home!

Telemedicine virtual visits consist of a video chat between the patient and the provider. Our telemedicine services are available Monday through Friday 8 am to 6 pm and 10 am-5 pm on the weekends. Keep scrolling for more information about telemedicine!

How It Works

1. Save Your Spot Online. (KY Clinics Only)

Find your local Kentucky clinic and click “Save Your Spot”. Select “Urgent Care Not-COVID Related” as your reason for your visit. Then choose “Yes” when asked, “Would you like to receive Telemedicine services from your Smartphone or Tablet in the comfort of your home?”.

2. Enter your details.

In order to be seen, please ensure all of your registration information is completed at the time you sign up.

3.  Click your virtual visit link.

Your provider will text you a link when it is your turn to be seen. Click the link to connect with your provider.


First Care accepts most health insurance plans and can bill insurance companies directly. Certain insurance plans may not cover telemedicine services, however, insurance coverage is evolving rapidly in response to federal and state emergency proclamations addressing COVID-19 (coronavirus). Many insurers are adding coverage for telemedicine services. Please contact your insurance provider for coverage details.

First Care recommends that you use an iPhone®, iPad® or Android® based smartphone or tablet for your virtual visit. A clickable link will be sent to the patient’s phone via a text message to begin the virtual visit. For best results, please ensure that your device is updated with the most recent software.

First Care offers self-pay pricing of $65 per visit for telemedicine services.

State Specific Information

By registering for a telemedicine visit, you confirm that you will receive telemedicine services while physically present in the state you are registered in. You consent to First Care communicating with you about your healthcare via text message. You confirm that if you are less than 18 years old a parent is available to consent to your treatment unless otherwise required by law. For best results, please ensure that your device is updated with the most recent software. Depending on your cellular carrier and plan, messaging and data rates may apply.
